Veteran actress. Shola Sobowale Said God Ordained Me To Be An Actress

Published

on

The actress is currently being praised by her fans all over the world following her performance in a new movie, King of Boys, which was directed by Kemi Adetiba. Sobowale as usual played her part well and the movie is selling fast in the cinemas.

In a recent interview, she disclosed that she did not become an actress by chance but was ordained by God.

Shola Sobowale said:

“This is what God has ordained me to do.”

She also seized the opportunity to thank Adetiba for letting her show the world she is one of the best the Nigerian movie industry has produced. The veteran actress also spoke on her role in the movie.

She  also said:
“Kemi is a killer, I almost died. Kemi is a slave driver but thank God. She would say to me: ‘Do you want to look bad on that screen at the end of the day? We thank God for the result. However, what baffles me is when she commends a scene and says ‘that was nice, that was beautiful’, but says we should have another take and before you know it, we would have had 10 or 15 takes. I remember a particular scene we were shooting and I was already in action and I heard a distant voice saying ‘Get Aunty S a chair; get her a bottle of water’. I asked what was going on and Kemi said ‘Aunty S, you are fainting’. I sat down and didn’t know I was shaking vigorously. That is the kind of director Kemi is the type who sees the work and sees the person. Other locations, maybe I would have been dead by now. I got the King of Boys script after a lunch with Kemi Adetiba. After The Wedding Party, I got a call from Kemi Adetiba she calls me Aunty S. She said ‘Where are you?’ and I told her I was home. She asked me to join her for lunch somewhere in Victoria Island and I joined her because I love food and I love her personality.”

Nigerian media personality, Denrele Edun has composed an emotional tribute to late musician Goldie

who died on February 14, 2013.

Goldie was one of the most enthralling recording artists in the Nigerian entertainment industry until her sudden demise at the age of 31.

Denrele share photos from his visit to her gravesite via his Instagram page,

He wrote;

9 YEARS AND STILL COUNTING!

You’re not here GOLDIE HARVEY, but your presence lingers in the shadows.
You don’t see what I see, but I hear you laughing with me when I laugh.
You don’t know what I feel, but I feel you, feeling for me.Came to visit you, as usual, dear Friend and again, I felt your presence…

In that swift sweep of wind that always picks up around your Resting Place.

Did you like my outfit today?
I re-enacted that all-black outfit You rocked when we were hosted at

*that Club* in Abuja, the same one where the DJ refused to play your songs.

Imagine his cheek of him!
I remember how you stormed out in anger, but only ME could drag you back in and

“shéy Werey” for the DJ to play Track 1 to 5!”

“Remember your Blonde Hairstyle in Joburg? I re-rocked it today for you in black!

And as you always said to me;
“People like us have so much LOVE to give but will hardly get it back!”…

Well, guess what? I was served “HOT BREAKFAST” at about 4a.m this morning….
In their words, “I’m not ready to love you the way you love me. I’m not in that headspace now”.
Imagine! ?????
But you know me! Tough Cookie….I’ll survive!
(I still haven’t found that Foreigner you told me to get hooked on…. I’m STILL not attracted to “whitey”! )

“Well, I came to sit at your Resting place and give you all the girlfriend
REST IN POWER GURLFRIEND!

I have learned that Grief is another name for Love.

We grieve because we had the opportunity of connecting deeply with another human.

This is essentially the most bittersweet of human experiences.

But now, we must continue to speak to Goldie, if only in our thoughts,so that she will know that we remember her and all the happiness and beauty that she brought into our lives and that she is not alone.

“Lives are like rivers: Eventually they go where they must.

Not where we want them to.”

RIP OLUWABIMPE SUSAN GOLDIE HARVEY. (1981 – 2013).
